The team representing South Africa, the Proteas, chartered Gamefisher II for two and a half days of practice fishing before the International Light Tackle Tournament, being fished out of the Flamingo Marina this week. On the first day the seas were a challenge but the seasoned South African team endured and managed to release 1 Sailfish for 3 bites and 1 Blue Marlin for 1 bite. They also boated a dorado for the table. On the second day the seas calmed down, the boat raised 11 Sailfish, anglers getting 10 bites and releasing 6 Sailfish. They wanted to try for roosterfish on their half day inshore and had success. They managed to catch and release 4 along with 2 pompano.
